Audit Trail

An audit trail is a chronological record of events related to a digital document. It provides a transparent history of actions taken on the document, including who accessed it, when, and what changes were made.

FillFaster's audit trail meticulously records every step of the signing process. For each signed document, FillFaster applies a verified cryptographic signature. This signature acts like a digital fingerprint, ensuring the document's integrity and authenticity.

FillFaster uses the P12 signing algorithm with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Here's why this is important:

  • P12: This is a secure file format that contains the digital certificate, including the public and private keys used for signing.

  • PKI: This is a framework that manages digital certificates, ensuring their validity and trustworthiness. It relies on trusted Certificate Authorities (CAs) to issue and verify digital identities.

What this means for your documents:

Each document signed through FillFaster is digitally signed with a cryptographic public certificate. You can easily view this certificate within Adobe Reader, which displays the precise time of signing and confirmation that the document is locked against further modifications.

Crucially, both the sender and the recipient receive identical copies of the signed document, each containing the same verifiable certificate. If any alteration is made to the document after signing, Adobe Reader will immediately notify you or remove the valid signature, clearly indicating that the document's integrity has been compromised. This strong security ensures that FillFaster's signed documents are legally binding and tamper-proof.
