Audit Trail
An audit trail is a chronological record of events related to a digital document. It provides a transparent history of actions taken on the document, including who accessed it, when, and what changes were made.
FillFaster’s audit trail meticulously records every step of the signing process. For each signed document, FillFaster applies a digital signature. This signature acts like a digital fingerprint, ensuring the document’s integrity and authenticity.
FillFaster uses the P12 signing algorithm with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Here’s why this is important:
- P12: This is a secure file format that contains the digital certificate, including the public and private keys used for signing.
- PKI: This is a framework based on asymmetric encryption (public and private keys), ensuring the integrity and authenticity of the digital signature.

What this means for your documents:
Each document signed through FillFaster is digitally signed with a cryptographic signature. You can easily view this signature within Adobe Reader, which displays the precise time of signing and confirmation that the document is locked against further modifications.
Crucially, both the sender and the recipient receive identical copies of the signed document, each containing the same verifiable digital signature. If any alteration is made to the document after signing, Adobe Reader will immediately notify you or remove the valid signature, clearly indicating that the document’s integrity has been compromised. This strong security ensures that FillFaster’s signed documents are legally binding and tamper-proof.
