Form Design Tips: How to Make Your Forms Look Professional

Want to level up the look of your FillFaster forms and ensure perfect precision every time? Here are the most important tricks for fast, professional work.

The foundation of fast, professional editing is the ability to select multiple fields at once - just hold Shift and click each field you want to add to the selection.

Once multiple fields are selected, you can perform actions on all of them together:

  • Move - drag them all to a new position at once
  • Copy and paste - Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+C / Cmd+V (Mac)
  • Align - use the alignment icons to arrange them uniformly

The fastest way to create a new field with the exact same properties - size, font, and styling - is to simply copy an existing one:

How do we do it? Select one or more fields (by holding Shift), then use the keyboard:

  • Windows: Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+V to paste
  • Mac: Cmd+C to copy, Cmd+V to paste

Why is this useful? All styling transfers automatically to the new field - no need to manually re-set size, font, or style.

To avoid guessing whether fields are lined up, we use magnetic guides:

How do we do it? Drag a magnetic guide from the rulers on the sides of the screen.

The result: Any field you bring close to the guide will snap to it automatically. This ensures a straight, consistent alignment across the entire form - effortlessly.

When you want to arrange multiple fields professionally - select them with Shift and use the alignment icons in the toolbar. You can choose from:

  • Edge alignment - left, right, or center
  • Equal spacing - distribute fields evenly, horizontally or vertically

How do we do it? Select the desired fields (by holding Shift on each one), then click the appropriate alignment icon.

The result: Your form will look clean and consistent, with no overcrowded or unevenly spaced fields.

  1. Consistency is everything - make sure all fields in the same row are the same height and have the same internal alignment.
  2. Name your fields clearly - always give fields descriptive names so form recipients know exactly what information to provide.
  3. Use space wisely - make sure text fields are wide enough to give users comfortable room to type their information.
