Setting up a custom domain for your FillFaster account allows you to use your own domain (like sign.yourcompany.com or forms.yourcompany.com) instead of the default fillfaster.com domain. This provides a more professional and branded experience for your users.

With a custom domain, your form and submission links will use your domain instead of the default FillFaster domain. For example:

Default: fillfaster.com/fill/kljg3lk2fg
Custom Domain: sign.yourcompany.com/fill/kljg3lk2fg

FillFaster handles all the technical aspects including SSL certificate provisioning, so you only need to configure a DNS record.

Prerequisites

Before setting up a custom domain, ensure you have:

Access to your domain’s DNS management panel
A FillFaster account
The domain you want to use (either a subdomain or main domain)
Active custom domain addon - Contact our support team first to purchase this addon

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Choose Your Custom Domain

Decide on the domain you want to use. You can use either:

Subdomain (Recommended): sign.yourcompany.com, forms.yourcompany.com
Main domain: yourcompany.com (if you want to use your root domain)

Step 2: Configure DNS Record

Log into your domain registrar’s DNS management panel
Add a new CNAME record with the following settings:
- Name/Host: Your chosen subdomain (e.g., sign, forms, fill) or leave blank for root domain
- Value/Target: custom.fillfaster.com
- TTL: 3600 (or default)

Step 3: Contact FillFaster Support

After setting up the DNS record:

Contact FillFaster support team
Provide them with your custom domain
Our team will configure the domain on our end
We will notify you about the successful change, and it’ll be active immediately

Note: DNS propagation can take up to 24-48 hours, but typically completes within a few hours.

Existing Forms: Previously created template forms will still work on the fillfaster.com domain, but will also work on the new domain (and this is what will be shown in the dashboard)
New Forms: All new template forms will use your custom domain
Automation: If you use automation to create submission links, it’ll reflect automatically with no action required
Dashboard: From the dashboards, all the links will be showing the new custom domain

Common Issues

DNS Not Propagated

Wait 24-48 hours for full propagation
Use online DNS checkers to verify propagation status

CNAME Record Not Working

Ensure the CNAME points exactly to custom.fillfaster.com
